Thanks for clearing that up Sharyn,
and as I said earlier we are all glad that everyone is ok. I also agree giving a shake up to all other racers and crew to check the safety gear is always a good thing.

I hope we can see Shane back and racing again soon.

Could I please give you the facts with exactly what happened with the accident last Saturday at Palmyra. The right hand lane racer was almost two seconds in front of the racer in the left lane, as the first racer crossed the finish line and deployed the chute, somehow it didn’t fill and got entangled with the wheelie bars, it then bloomed while entangled and lifted the car up and pulled it directly left across in front of the second racer,where it hit the ditch,got airborne and rolled many times. The racer in the left lane saw this happen in front of him, he hit the brakes hard which then caused his car to roll. AT NO TIME did either of the cars touch each other. The first racer didn’t have time for brakes,he was waiting for the chute to hit and as all racers know you don’t apply brakes before the hit of the chute. It is distressing enough for both drivers, their families and friends to deal with the accident and the loss of two great cars without everyone thinking they know what happened when they really don’t. All racers should have a really good look at their cars and double check the safety features installed because with both of these cars and in particular the first racer he wouldn’t be alive if the roll cage, the helmet, arm restraints, suit, seatbelts and everything else didn’t come together and work when they were really needed. These safety features are always expensive in a drag car but what price your life??? We all know the dangers of drag racing, we still do it because we love it, BUT sometimes an accident like this makes everyone double check everything in their vehicle and if that is an action that comes out of this accident it will be great for everyone and dragracing.
